Well, I could have left this on the Questions section, but this is something that’s been boggling my mind for quite some time. I figure others might also want to know the answer also…..
So: Which direction does the water in the toilet spin in the Southern Hemisphere? Here in the northern parts, it spins counter clockwise. Does it really spin in the opposite direction down there? We’ll wait while you flush…

i’ve done a little bit of research on this….it’s because of the magnetic pull of the north and south poles….one pulls in one direction, the other pulls in the opposite direction….
So it has nothing to do with the butt? OOokay .. thank you for researching that!

I cannot top these comments – no way, no how. I’m so glad the question has been answered though. I forgot to put my name on the question – I confess, it was me. I checked this out myself while in S. America a few years back and could have sworn it rotated in a clockwise fashion, then recently heard that it did not – that it was all a myth. “No” I thought, “that cannot be.” So of course I started questioning my own observations and, viola! here we are, with the question firmly and properly answered. Thanks Moe! You have now confirmed that I am not crazy (at least today).
